"Ted Nugent Porkslam" Letters

Hi Ted,

Wanted to thank you so much for the great time we had with you and at Sunrize. What a blast!!!! It was a long trip home. From Jackson to Chicago nothing but ice and snow covered roads with whiteouts. Visibility almost 0. Traveled slow and lots of stopping for accidents with semis and cars smashed and in ditches. We took our time, I said a few prayers and we made it safe and sound. We're so pumped for the upcoming year with the NugeBow and are so fortunate to have you on our team with Renegade. It sure was nice meeting Andy. Hopefully it'll all work out and we can team up with him. Bill almost fell off the wagon cause he wanted to binge out on milk and sweets while traveling yesterday, but, I said what a waste it'd be after how good he's been doing on his diet so far. So guess what? We stopped at Subway and he ate healthy!!! Hell of a lot better than the donuts and sweet rolls!!! Inserted a few photos from the digital. Turned our films in today. Will send you copies as soon as we get them. I'll insert a few photos from the digital here and there as we email back and forth. Thanks again for everything Ted, including the polish sausages and the buck grub. Can't wait to try both out. You're a true friend and one we can trust!!!! Sandy

Mr. Nugent,

It was a pleasure to meet you at the Fall Pork Slam 2002 at Sunrize Acres. Shelley and I had a great time. The elation Shelley experienced harvesting her first animal was magical. You made it even more special for her with your one-on-one "interview" for Dan's Outdoor Dream TV show. I truly hope we can get a copy of the photograph Jim took of us for your magazine. Paul and Jim did a nice job.

A week later I was at Deer camp in the U.P. without Shelley. This was only the second time I had experienced bow hunting. I practiced throughout 2002 inside and outside. I was absolutely thrilled to take my first deer with a bow. The emotional rush was/is phenomenal.

It seemed out of place at the time but I wanted to let you know that we are both Life Members of the NRA and Shelley is a competitive pistol shooter and NRA range officer. She helps teach a CCW course throughout the year with the Duncan family in Bay City at their gun shop/range. I'm so glad we came to Sunrize Acres as it has now introduced my soul mate of 23 years to another experience we can share together. Perhaps she'll come to the Queen of the Forest.

Thank you for a great experience. We'll be back. Look forward to sharing a campfire with you again sometime.
